You get into the express entry pool and obtain an invitation to apply for Canada’s permanent residence; now, what can you do?
Now applicants can submit their application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) if they intend to immigrate to Canada.
The moment you get an invitation to apply, you will get a total of 90 days for submitting a complete application. So plan the time accordingly. As if you will not provide an application within 90 days, your invitation will be terminated. This signifies that you will need to submit a new express entry profile and then wait to obtain another invitation to apply.
Canada lately welcomed 27,332 immigration applicants in one of the most significant express entry draws. These applicants were qualified to get a Canadian permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). After their profile has been submitted to the express entry pool before 12 September 2020, they will only require a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 75 to get an invitation. This CRS score was one of the lowest CRS requirements ever. This one of Canada’s largest draws shows that Canada is committed to welcome more than 400,000 immigrants this year.
When looking to submit your application for permanent residence, the first step is to collect all the needed documents. Your ITA will notify you whether you are qualified to apply for permanent residence or not by the CEC or specific other Express Entry-managed program. IRCC will offer the candidates a personalized document checklist by the Express Entry portal, dependent on the immigration program they are applying for. While using the application need to submit their application along with the below-mentioned documents:
For examples, civil status documents like a birth certificate
- Language tests;
- Educational documents;
- Work experience documents;
- Medicals;
- Police certificates;
- Proof of funds;
- Photos and other forms.
Police clearance certificates are also required for any country in which you have been resided consecutively for six months or even more in the last ten years. You don’t require to submit the police certificates for any time before you were 18 years old. You also don’t need to submit the police clearance certificates when you were staying in Canada until later on in the process.
Moreover, you also need to give a medical test from a physical certified by IRCC. Applicants generally require providing biometrics (fingerprints and photographs). Moreover, if you have already given biometric in the last ten years as a significant part of the application for a visitor visa, work, or study permit, if yes, then you do not require giving your biometric again. This is an integral part of the temporary measure because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In case you have not given your biometric before, you will have to provide it through the biometric collection site near you. Moreover, in case the site turns down, then the IRCC itself will increase the deadline for delivering the biometrics.
You might also need to submit some of the additional documents as per your current situation. It is a better option than visiting the checklist to ensure that you have prepared all the required documents.
After you have done with your medical, biometrics, and gathered and all the documents have been uploaded, you will fully prepared to apply.
The processing time of the application might fluctuate. Before making a final decision regarding your application, the IRCC will organize a short interview. If you get passed in the interview, you will get your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). After the mailing process, IRCC will guide you regarding what to do next. You might have to visit t the port where you will have to present your COPR and prove that you are capable enough to support yourself and your family.
In case you are outside Canada, you might require dropping off your passport at a Visa Application Centre (VAC) if you need a visa to get entry into Canada. As soon as the processing is complete, you will be asked to take your passport and COPR.
IRCC pursues express entry applications from people residing outside Canada. Those individuals capable enough may travel to Canada as soon as the travel restrictions are imposed off. Moreover, the application process might take too many months, and it is a better option to get into the Express Entry pool now, given the unpredictable nature of the programs. IRCC might welcome more applicants from overseas at any time and might opt to improve their ITAs and decrease their CRS cut-off without any warning. Moreover, the travel restriction will be imposed off at the time when your receive your COPR.
