Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are looking to start processing more spousal immigration applications as it goes slows down due to the corona virus’s effect in the beginning.
Before the corona virus’s effect, the Canadian government was planning to accept more than 70,000 new immigrants under its Spouses, Partners, and Children category. Under its upcoming 2021-2023 immigration level plans, this objective will rise to 80,000 new immigrants.
Welcomed immigrants under this group were mostly wives, husbands, and partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents who agreed to sponsor them.
Immigration procedures and admissions have been diminished due to the Corona virus’s effect; Moreover, IRCC made an important announcement later on in September that they are planning to accelerate up to 6000 spousal applications every month between September and December 2020.
IRCC spousal sponsorship processing got double lately
A new figure by IRCC signifies that the total number of spousal sponsorship applications decided by the IRCC increased in no small number in September 2020 compared to July.
IRCC finalized up to more than 4000 applications in September, but it was just under 2000 in July.
Land and overseas application have noticed compelling improvements.
The total number of inland applications increased to about 2000 in September when compared with July, i.e., almost 1200.
A large number of increments came mainly from an overseas application that was completed. All these numbers were more than 2000 in September when compared to just 800 in July.
As IRCC announced later in September regarding accelerating the process of spousal applications, we should foresee a broader level of finalized application for the rest of 2020.
