About CRS Score

The CRS score or Comprehensive Ranking System score is assigned on the basis of different factors related to the candidate, such as level of education, age, and work experience and language proficiency. Keep in mind that you cannot be eligible for any of three Express Entry programs just by estimating Canada 67 points. You have to ensure your eligibility to one of these programs in advance by checking out eligibility requirements in each program.
If you don’t have a Canadian degree, your Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) and language test results in order to figure out the actual CRS score. You can still figure out the CRS points if you don’t meet the above requirements to claim the points on other factors.
You can calculate the CRS score on your own using Canada CRS Points Calculator.

Minimum Score You Should Achieve

The IRCC issues an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to the deserving candidates so they can get permanent residency with Express Entry in Canada. To do this, you have to achieve a CRS score which is equal or above the minimum to receive an ITA. A threshold is set to select the applicants for Express Entry visa when their CRS Score is above the limit. A draw is taken on every two weeks on Wednesdays.

How to Increase Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Score?

When you are unable to score enough CRS points, you can consider another immigration option, i.e. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). You will get a further 600 points when you are selected to get a provincial nomination by the province. This way, you can get ITA automatically in another draw. You can stay in the province when obtaining permanent residence by getting nominated by a province.
Higher Education
It is one of the important factors to improve your CRS score. You can achieve higher points with higher education. For example, you can score maximum 140 points for education with doctorate-level qualification.
Any Brother/Sister in Canada
Do you have any sibling who is a Permanent Resident or Canadian citizen living there? You can get further 15 points with their CRS score.
Language Proficiency
Candidates can score extra points with proficiency in English and French languages. They need to announce their Second Official language proficiency in French by sharing their French proficiency test results to score CRS points. They need to take an approved French language proficiency test. Immigration streams are aligned in most provinces with Express Entry. But there are eligibility criteria set for each province and stream.
